Nigeria @ 54: In Need of Revolutionaries

This year, I have the privilege of joining millions of Nigerians around the world in commemorating our great country's national independence, which is currently beset by pains and pangs crying for help. Despite the backlash I received in 2010 when the country celebrated its 50th birthday, I was hesitant to write this article. My experiences, however, prompted me to write down my reflections.    My sin was mentioning the reasons why, amid the country's poor management, we should commemorate the 50th anniversary of our independence. And my counsel was that we should take that time to both celebrate and reflect on the nation's deplorable state. Thus find solutions to our distressing state and a renewed commitment to successfully resolve them. However, I later came to a conclusion that such chastisement would not force me into silence. Instead, now is the time for me to join the effort to save Nigeria from collapsing. The Nigerian state's soul must be rescued. On this basi

The Dangers of Academic Credentials

Learning is wrapped in questioning. Education is simply not going to school. What majority refer to as education is absolutely not. They failed to understand that real education is questioning in disguise. Oftentimes, I had lost in thoughts with an overwhelming curiosity. My curiosity got me into thinking that led to my several questioning prompts, such as; how did education began? Who are the founders of education to humanity? Which university/ies did they attend? How did they come about the idea of education?   Interestingly, I realized that they went to universities of questioning and thought . It has left me with a lasting insight that great achievers are largely products from question-asking and answer-seeking, and not from the popular notion of the highly educated. Nowadays, it’s a pity to recognize that the underlying aim of many that attend school is to obtain Academic Credentials, and perhaps, to come out with good grades. And consequently, they have neglected the actual me

Year-Long Success Accelerators

Congratulations! You made it into this year. The utmost desire of every living person is to see a brand new year. Perhaps, if you are reading this article, it’s such an evident that you are one of those that made it into this year—2014. It’s now no more dream in wish but dream in reality. However, like a wind, the year 2013 disappeared on the night of December 31 st , and the boat of 2014 without hesitation anchored. Interestingly, the 2014 boat has begun its sailing right from the transition night into the 1 st January. With excitement, all that saw and experienced the transition boarded the boat, to be delivered at their various shores. These various shores connote our individual dream destinations. To these various destinations, they represents a place called “Success, Accomplishment, Fulfilment, or Happiness” in our different minds. Therefore, to fully attain the success of our destination expectations, we have marshalled out our wishes, dreams, and goals, with few N

RADICAL SHIFT AUDIENCE: My Address

Greetings from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Please accept my heartfelt apologies for being unable to attend the summit today. I went to great lengths to make sure I was a part of the RADICAL SHIFT. Despite my absence, I keep the programme in the highest regard and consider it to be very dear to me.   Despite the fact that I was unable to attend, my thoughts and prayers are unmistakably with you. I would have preferred RADICAL SHIFT summit over a million dollars if I had to choose between the two. My hope is that you will all leave with a renewed determination to effect lasting radical change to our society.    I'd like to express my gratitude to The Carpenters' Touch, the summit's organisers, as well as the program's convener (Mr. Chuks Chukwueke), who is a close friend and mentor of mine. He has been a vital part of my growth journey. What I admire the most about him is his desire to make a difference by raising a generation of undiluted, unpolluted, incorruptible, unrelent
